Smeared Ink Weekly Challenge...Up In Flames

Smeared Ink host a weekly challenge with a set theme.  This weeks theme is "Up In Flames" for the week of August 29.  Projects must contain something with burned edges, singed, or scorched.  Here is my take on the challenge.

I used a stamp from the Faes stamp set from Smeared Ink.  I colored her with Copic markers and made her one hot mama!   She is on fire!..just like the mini letter dice say.  I then took some black and red tulle and singed the edges.  I had not done this technique in awhile and forgot how cool your flowers look with the burnt edges.  You have to be very careful doing this technique because the tulle melts very quickly.  I hope you enjoy this idea.  Please leave me a comment.  I appreciate the feed back.

Bombshell Challenge Shabby Chic

This was a fun challenge that had you really thinking.  I'm definitely used to using more color. I was told part of the challenge was to use mostly white on your project.  I took one of my favorite Bombshells and left her bathing suit white but covered with stardust Stickles.  On a strip of the cardstock I used one of my new best friends....I covered it with clear micro beads.  I think it added a great touch to the card.  I used some of the remaing cardstock to make rosettes, tissue tape by Tim Holtz, rosette trim by Tim Holtz, Pearl trinket pins from Maya Road and a lace doilie to make up my embellishments.  I think it all came together great.  Please let me know what you think of my card.  I enjoy the comments.  Onto my next project...

Smeared Ink Weekly Challenge--Dead Divas Aug 15

Here is the card I design for this weeks challenge...."Dead Divas".  I combined a lot of my favorite product lines.  The entire background is embossed metal I got from Ten Seconds Studio.  The chipboard swirls and letters are from Maya Road.  I sprayed with Maya mist and applied German Glass glitter to the swirls and stamped on the chipboard letters and covered with Glossy Accents.  My stamp is from the Smeared Ink "Zombie Pinups" collection.  I cut out my tombstones and used rub-on letters from Maya Road and accented with Stickles.  Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment.

Smeared Ink Weekly Challenge--Splat

Better late than never...I finally got something made for this weeks challenge.  The theme is "Splat".  Here is my take on the challenge

I sprayed both pieces of cardstock with Maya Mist from Maya Road then let the access paint "splat" onto the paper.  I used stamps from the Faes set from Smeared Ink.  I had both the rosette ribbon trim and silver picks left over from another project.  I love it when I can find a use for my leftovers.  I know we all have some.  The "thinking of you" stamp is from Studio G. I think I will drop this in the mail to a friend who has been on my mind.   Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think of my card.

Bombshell August Sketch Challenge

Here is my submission for the Bombshell Stamps August Sketch Challenge.  If you can't tell I really love the stamps. I used a wide range of the Bombshell Girls.   I copic colored each one and added a bit of bling to each one.  I also added a little something, something to the bottom strip of red cardstock.  I covered the entire piece in red mircobeads.  It came out so cool.  It looks so much better in person.  I made a rosette using Tim Holtz Tissue Paper Tape.  Very simple but great card I think.  Please let me know what you think.

Smeared Ink Blog Hop

Smeared Ink is hosting a blog hop today and the theme is PAINT...I was very excited about this chance to work with paint.  I don't do it very often. I thought I would give it my best shot.  If you arrived from Sara's blog you're on the right track, but if you happen to get lost there is a full list of the blogs at the bottom of this entry.

Now here is my project..

I titled it "Don't Shoot the Messanger".  This is one great stamp from Smeared Ink . She's one classy, hot lady who isn't afraid to show you who's in charge.   I found a tutorial on rangerink.com which show me how to make the paint splatters using their paint dabbers. You can find it under videos and its called Patti Splat.  It's messy but really fun. Be sure and check it out.   I also covered the entire backgroup piece with UTEE which gives the paint a wet effect.  I think this card has a mobster's feel to it.  Let me know what you think and please enjoy the rest of the hop.   Next stop is Ike's blog

Smudgefest Day 6

I can't believe it, I really have done a project everyday for Smudgefest.  Just one more day.

Today's challenge is Sketchy Saturday

Here is my take on the challenge

On this card I used stamps from the Faes stamp set from Smeared Ink.  I love the look of the vine and used the word "fascination" from the same stamp set.  I embossed the background along with a piece of metal to accent.  This was a very simple and fun card to make

Smudgefest Day 5

Wow!  It's day 5 of Smudgefest.  Today's theme is Flowing Friday

Here is my version of the challenge

I made this "Sweet Treat" card.  I made my flowing effect using distress inks, and UTEE.   I also applied my distress inks then spritzed with Tim Holtz water splitzer and covered the entire piece of paper with UTEE.  It gave it a crackled effect and it almost appears wet.  I finished it off with a rosette made from Tim Holtz tissue tape.  Can't wait to see what tomorrows challenge is....

Smudgefest Day 4

Today's challenge is Twisted Thursday....I really had to think on this one.

Here is my take on the challenge

The Faes stamp set came to my rescue again.  I twisted some cardstock for the background and pulled out my UTEE supplies and embossing powders.  I love how this supplies can create such a detailed and fun embellishment.  Can't wait to see what Friday holds!!

Smudgefest Day 3

Today theme is Wicked Wednesday

Here is my take on the challenge

I used a stamp from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot Set.  When I saw this stamp what came to mind is a beautiful wicked queen.  Part of todays challenge was to also use the colors purple, mustard yellow, dark gray, and pumpkin orange.  I used all these colors in my embellishments.  The more I look at this card the more I like it.  Until tomorrow!

Smudgefest Day 2

Today's theme is Terrifying Tuesday...here is my take on today's challenge
I used a stamp from the Faes set.  Martha Stewart came to my rescue today.  I cut the hand from one of her treat bags and the remaining embellishments are also from the scary Martha.  Can't wait to see what day 3 of Smudgefest holds for us.

Smudgefest

Today is the first day of a week long challenge hosted by Smudgy Antics. There will be a different challenge every day until the 7th August.

Today's challenge is to create a Bi-polar project that showcases two opposites.

Here's my take on the challenge

I titled my card "Find the Pretty in Your Opposite".  I used stamps from Smeared Ink and The Paper Shelter.  I love these daily challenges I just hope I can keep up.  LOL!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Here's a card I made using some stamps from Smeared Ink Stamps.  I love the fun characters they have created.  This card can be used for many occasions.  I am giving this card to a friend who is going thru some hard times right now and I want to remind her to stop and smell the flowers.  She really has a lot of good things going on her in life.  Along with this cool stamps stamps I made some mini rosettes out of cardstock and one larger rosette out of ribbon trim form Maya Road.  I'm really getting some good practice with my Copic Marker coloring.  This was really a fun card to make.  This is the first card I'm displaying as design team member for Smeared Ink.  I hope I did them proud.  LOL!
