Preparing

In the process of getting ready for a crop this weekend.  We have a friend hosting a gathering of her 55 closest friends...LOL! for a full day of fun.  Happy Hour Crafts is taking their products for sell.  I'm in the process of making up several samples of our products.  I love spending time with other scrappers.  Love seeing what everyone is making.  I also seem to get inspiration by watching others working on their projects.  So off to spend a little more time in my craft room and see what I can come up with...til next time

Shadowbox Book

I have finished my latest project.  I found this idea online several months ago inspired by Shelley Haganman.  I love this idea binding two shadowboxes together.  Many of the supplies are from Maya Road including the two shadowboxes.  It was fun to see how the finally result would come out.  I just took each individual window with no idea what I was going to do.  I knew I wanted it to focus on family.  Included which can be seen in the last pic is a hidden mini album.  I plan on including some family pics in it.  I will be showing this project at a upcoming crop that I will be attending.  I can't wait to hear what kind of feed back I get from everyone. I'm off to start on the next project.  I'm excited about it it includes some new stamps I just got in.  Till next time....

Taking the dive

Sorry no new pics today, but I am working on something.  For several years I have had many people tell me I really needed to try and get my name out into the craft world.  I always just said I knew.  I knew and believed in my talent but I guess fear kept me from trying.  I kept getting encouraging words from so many people.  It was always on my mind.  I kept asking myself why was I so scared.  Was I scared of the rejection? Was I scared fellow crafters would not think I had any talent?  Well I finally had to look at myself in the mirror and tell myself I could do this.  I spoke to friend who told me how to get started.  So....I did it! I have been submitting my projects to different groups for the last week and a half.  I've been getting back some great feedback.  Now its the waiting game but I did it! Finally!  Deep breathe...LOL! I have finally come to terms that not everybody is going to like what I make and that's okay, somebody else is really going to love it.  I guess my craft is helping me grow in more than one way.  Will keep everyone updated.  Wish me luck!!

Valentines Gift

Another version of the altered shadowbox.  I made this for my mom for valentines day and I think it came out really cute.  I went online and watched some youtube videos and learned how to make some new flowers.  These are the roses and a flower made out of a paper bag.  Love it when people share their ideas and techniques. I found a poem called "Moms Hands" which perfectly described my mom.  I think she really liked it.  We are getting ready for a crop in March so lots of new things coming out soon.  Till next time!

Altered Frame

Here is something really cool!  Prissy and I found these shadow box frames several months ago on clearance.  We saw them and knew we could do something with them.  I kept walking past them in my craft room so today I finally did something with it.  The photo shows the before and after.  I put metal around the frame and created a layout using my sister and her boyfriend and my subjects.  I think it came out really cute and really glad I have more frames.  I will see what else I can come up with.
