Shiver Me Timbers Bombshell Blog Hop

I'm really excited about this blog hop.  I recently did my first hop with Smeared and Smudged and I think I'm addicted now.  If you hopped on over from Debbie's blog then you are on the right track. The start of the hop is on the Bombshell Blog if you get lost I do have the full list at the end of this entry.  I recently came across Bombshell Stamps and have fallen in love with them.  I try to find a reason to use them in almost all my projects.  When I saw these stamps I always imagined them on canvas so when I saw this challenge I knew I had to do something with the idea floating around in my head.
I took two pieces of canvas.  One is 12 x 12 and the other is 8 x 10. I used distress inks to give the sides of the canvas a vintage look.    My friend Tammy helped me find this paper at Hobby Lobby which I think works great.  I adhered directly onto the canvas using Modge Podge then stacked the smaller of the canvas on top.  I used sea shells, pearls and wood tags, and 3D stickers for embellishments.  I enlarged my Bombshell Shell stamp and  glammed her up,  and after adhereing her down realized she was missing something....a treasure chest! So I took a paper mache box, distress it up and adhered it and filled it up with some coins I found at the Dollar Store and made some pearl necklaces, and some colored bling dots.  She truely has a chest full of jewels.
Here is a side view which shows you how I stacked my canvas and also distressed the sides.  I really love how this project came out.  I told the pictures does not give it justice.  Thanks so much for stopping by and please let me know what you thought of my project.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop and now onto Cheryl's blog.  Remember if you get lost here is a list of all the blogs

New Bombshell in Town

I got a new Bombshell Stamp in yesterday! Its the Cherry Bomb stamp. I went to my craft room and starting working on something using it.  The Bombshell Forum had a challenge this month with a theme of Wild Thing.  You could do anything you wanted as long as it contained a Bombshell stamp and animal print.  I made this using the jumbo bottle cap from Maya Road along with ribbon trim from them also.  I also used some micro beads to fill the inside of the bottle cap.    I think this is going to make a great gift tag for a friend of mine.  I have called her a wild thing a time or two...LOL!

Sugar Skull Wall Hangings

Hey everybody!  This is what I have been working on.  Since I started working full time its been kinda tough finding time so I've been doing a little here and there in the evenings.  It took me about four nights to get these done but I'm very happy with these pieces.  I had a friend order these pieces for a friend who has done her kids rooms in tattoo theme.  I placed the piece of cardstock on acrylic pieces so they can be used as a frame or a message board that you wipe off.  My sugar skulls are from Bombshell Stamps.  They normally are not this big but I stamped a few samples on white cardstock and my great Tammy enlarged them for me.  I took some grunge paper from Tim Holtz and made most of the flowers and also used his tissue tape to make the paper rosette.  I hope Rin's friend really like these pieces.  I think they are great!  Let me know what you think.

Father's Day Card

Here is another Father's Day card.  I cut out the image using my Cricut then covered my golfer in black German Glass glitter.  I also used some of my Maya Road Zipper Trim which adds so much.  It's something your not used to seeing on a card.  I took some grunge board, embossed it and stamped my sentiment, colored it with Distress Inks then covered it with Glossy Accents.  It looks really cool.  I added some stamps for accents and voila...it's done.

Bombshell Sketch Challenge

Here's the latest.  I am a member of the Bombshell Stamps forum and every month they have a sketch challenge.  This is where they give you a layout idea usually for a card and you get to creating. I took some cardstock and ran it through my paper crimper which I have not used for a long time and used it for the background.  I'm addicted to micro beads(thanks Prissy) at the moment and I have been putting them on all my projects.  I covered the entire middle circle.  I found these beads on clearance at Michaels so I was able to get some really neat colors.  I knew I would need some Father's Days cards so I couldn't think of one guy who would not love to receive this card with the Bombshell on front.  I did make another Father's Day card and will post it too.  Until next time...

Skull Appreciation Blog Hop

It's finally here! My first blog hop! I'm really excited to showcase some of my projects. I have several friends who love Day of the Dead skulls and so this hop could not have come at a better time. They are both celebrating their birthdays so I've been able to create a few projects using this theme and surprise them with some great gifts.

First is a birthday card I made for my friend Rin. I used Sugar Skull stamps from Bombshell Stamps which are quickly becoming some of my favorite stamps. I used Copic markers to color and Stickles to add a little bling. All the cardstock used is from DCWV. I did make all the flowers on this card. The first one I used is the Rosette diecut from Tim Holtz. On the second flower I used the Tattered flower diecut also from Tim Holtz, cut from grunge board and accented with distress ink and micro beads. The last flower is made from twine. I saw a similar flower at Michaels and knew I could easily make my own version so here it is and used pearls as my center. I took a bling swirl and a happy birthday stamp from Studio G to finish it off.

My second project is this wall hanging. I was able to use one of my favorite supplies....metal!! Both the metal and the Day of the Dead Skull are from Ten Seconds Studio. I embossed it onto silver metal, colored with Copic makers then took German glass glitter and mirco beads to jazz it up. Glitter and micro beads can bring any project to life. I attached the skull to a piece of acrylic which I stamped with Staz On and Pearl Pens. I made all these flowers on this piece using the Tattered flower diecut , which I think is becoming my new best friend. LOL! All the flowers are made from grunge board and I colored them using distress inks and accented with micro beads. The rose can be a challenge to make but I found a very simple tutorial on YouTube. I think the rose adds a special touch to any project. I then took tulle and made a hanger and attached a bow to the base of the project and added a pin I found at my local flea market. I really enjoyed making this project.

I appreciate you stopping by and hope you enjoyed viewing my projects. Please leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you. I've really enjoyed my first blog hop and hope it's not my last. Enjoy the rest of blog
