Tri State Fair

I entered three items in the Tri-State Fair over the past week.  I was shock, surprised and excited to find out all my projects won 1st in their catagories.  I entered a picture frame which I covered in metal from Ten Seconds Studio and a zipper flower I made from zipper trim by Maya Road.  The second item is a shadowbox frame I found on clearance and altered into this piece.  I made this item for my mom for Mother's day.  Again I used lots of items from Maya Road.  The last piece is two mini shadowboxes which I binded together to create this book.  This idea was inspired by Shelly Haganman.  All pieces are from Maya Road, Ranger, and Jenni Bowlin.  I just want to thank everyone for their continued support and I guess it's onto more projects.  Thanks again!!

Smeared Ink Weekly Challenge.....Zetti..."Find Your Magic People"

Smeared Ink's challenge for this week is Zetti.  Yeah I didn't know what it was either...but I learned and I'm hooked.  It's a form of mixed media where you take different parts and put together to create a new form and design.  Here is my take on Zetti!

Like I said before I didn't know what Zetti was before but God does work in mysterious ways.  I had to ask my good friend Prissy what this was.  Her reply "silly man it's what I've been learning to do".  I was blown over.  She was able to explain the whole concept to me and show me some great videos on YouTube.  My project is made up of stamps from Smeared Ink (Faes and Heart & Wings), Heartfelt Creations (Flower), and Teesha Moore (Body Parts and Wizard Hat).  I took a 8"x11 1/2" piece of chipboard applied a piece of textured cardstock and colored it with my Perfect Pearls.  This was also a new concept for me but love how the background came out.  I then trimmed it with some design tape from Ranger and accented with red dots using Pearl Pens.  The rest is made from a magazine I cut up.  I have totally fallen in love with this concept and plan on making some great Christmas presents for family.  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think of my first Zetti creation.

Birthday Card

Happy Birthday Amelia!! The big "2"!  I made this card using a tag card I found on clearance.  This is a new shape card for me so was a lot of fun to create.  Also did something else new I made my own ruffled tissue paper to match the tissue paper we used on her gift.  I learned this technique from a tutorial on Pinterest. I added some accents from Maya Road which include the scroll chipboard pieces and trinket pearl pins.  I made the rosettes out of scrap cardstock.  It all came together nicely.  It was a great party and Becky really like the card.

Metal Embossed Baby Girl Frame

I made this frame for some friends of ours that were expecting their first daughter.  Very simple and very inexpensive.

Supplies:
Metal from Ten Seconds Studio
Vinyl from Circut
Scrolls are from the Storybook cartridge also from Cricut
Frame and flower both from Michaels and both found in the 1.00 bins
Cuttlebug and embossing folder from Provo Craft

I took the metal and embossed it running it through the Cuttlebug.  I then cut my vinyl swirls, the large is cut at 3 1/2" and small swirl is cut at 2"using my Cricut.  Adhere these directly to the frame.  The flower was originally a pin and I cut off the pin back and adhered it to the frame.  You can stamp the inside of the frame with your favorite sentiment.  There it is!  It's done and it make a great gift.

Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop

What a great day! Smeared Ink is hosting a new release blog hop today.  If you hopped on over from Ike's blog you are on the right track.  I was really excited when I got to see the new image I got to work with.  I proud to add this little fellow to my Smeared Ink collection.

My little Grumpie is a rockstar.  When I first saw this new image I knew instantly he needed a stage.  I took this card idea from a project on SplitCoastStampers.com.  The first image shows the card laid flat but when my little guy is ready to perform you just slide the lower part of the card and him and his stage pop up. This is my first pop up card.  All cardstock is from a paper pack called Rock Star.  This card was some different for me but was really simple and fun to make.  Please let me know what you think of my card I appreciate the feedback. Now it's onto Celina's blog.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Smeared Ink Challenge Week of Sept 12....Paint

Smeared Ink's challenge for this week is paint.  I had a few ideas rolling around in my head but this is what I finally came up with....

I found myself not really wanting to make a card this week.  I decided to take a $1.00 frame from Michaels and use it this week.  I painted it using the red crackle paint from Ranger, stamped it using stamps from Inkadinkado and Staz On Ink.  The finally touch came from using UTEE to cover the entire frame.  I heat set it and the UTEE settled in the crackled paint and also gave it a wet, glossy appearance.  I finished it off with Smeared Ink stamps from the Faes set.  I'm very happy how this project turned out.  Please let me know what you think of this project.  I appreciate the feed back.

Thank You Cards

Hey everybody!!  I hope everybody's weekend is off to a good start.  I've been busy trying to complete some projects.  Here are a couple of Thank You cards I made for a friend.  The first card has a cool digi stamp from Paper Shelter.  They have some really cool choices.  It also has an awesome added touch of acrylic wings.  I stamped them with Staz-On ink.  I really like how they came out.  The second card includes a stamp from Bombshell Stamps.  I'm also using this card for their September sketch challenge.  If you know me you know I'm really into using mirco beads so I had to use them for my center oval piece.  My friend is giving this card to a friend who let her use his pool over the weekend.  I think he will appreciate the pinup. Well back to work, they are other projects waiting.  Please let me know what you think of my cards.
