Home from the Fair

Very excited to show how I did at the Tri-State Fair. Three of my four projects placed. Would loved for all my projects to win something but maybe next year. I am happy to say that all my projects were sold before I left the fair. Now I have a whole new year to come up with some new ideas.  I want to thank everyone for their support. I have gotten some great feedback on this years projects.

Pop up greeting card

I found this awesome tutorial by Brenda Bliss for a pop up box and I had to give it a try. I instantly knew I wanted to use this as a greeting card for a friend. My friend was throwing a birthday party for her daughter and asked me to make a card. I knew this would be perfect. I included some pictures and included a tag so that she could sign with a personalized message. They both loved it which made me really happy. I have a feeling I will be making a few more of these. Thanks for stopping by!  More projects to come!

Tri-State Fair Entries

Hello everybody!  I am alive!  I've been really busy in the craft room. All my attention has been on getting my entries made for the fair. My first project is two shadow boxes hinged together to create an album. My second entry is a flower bouquet made from recycled items like coke cans and newspaper, and plastic forks. I love it!!  My last entry is a shadow box made for my friend Prissy. She was the person who introduced me into mixed media so it was only fitting that I created her shadow box using this technique. I also had some items from her home that burnt down which she didn't know about. So a lot of the ribbon, twine, buttons and spoon are from her old craft room. I think it came out amazing. I hope she loves it and I hope I can tell her it won a blue ribbon at the fair. Wish me luck!!
