Fall Card

I had so much fun making this card. I took an idea from Pinterest. I picked up some fall leaves in the yard and made some rosettes. I know crazy! All ribbon trim used is by Maya Road along with the pearl trinket pins. This card is going in my own personal collection. Thanks for stopping by!

Loving Mixed Media

I finished another canvas piece today. I am loving me some mixed media. I love getting my hands dirty from all the paints and stains. I also love the fact that I'm using up a lot of my scraps and extra supplies. Can't wait to make some more.

Mixed Media projects keep on coming

I was very excited when I was asked to make two mixed media cards. First was for one of my co-workers who is going through a sad time so we just all wanted her to know we were all there for her. Second card was a request from my supervisor who needed a card for her mother's birthday. I'm really having fun with these projects. I love how none of these come out the same. I hope to be posting more projects soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media cards

I had so much fun making these cards! I put my mixed media skills to the test. I had three friends with birthdays this weekend. I tried to match each of their personalities. I can definitely see me making more of these. The possibilities are endless, and I'm finding you can use almost anything. My favorite part of giving my cards is to see the recipient's reaction. One of the things I did differently on some of these cards is I stamped onto tissue paper. Stamps are from lisapace.com and timholtz.com. My day of the dead skull is by bombshellstamps.com. I again have to give credit to Christy Tomlinson for giving me this inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

1st Mixed Media canvas

Okay I did it! I have moved on from tags to canvas. I applied most of the same elements as I did in my tags. Christy Tomlinson doesn't know the monster she has created. Lol!! I love the idea that every piece is original and no two are alike. I'm already prepping two more pieces of canvas so keep watching to check out my newest projects. Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Mixed Media tag

I'm still playing with the mixed media projects. I've had so much fun working with all these elements. Mixed media really puts your imagination to the test. Again I used stains, paints, stamps, and scraps of cardstock. I decided I'm ready to graduate and I'm going to start my first canvas piece. Stay tuned for it! Thanks for stopping by!

2nd Mixed Media tag

I finished my second mixed media tag. I'm having so much fun playing with so many different elements. I'm using everything from paints, stains, stamps, card stock and spray mist. I do have to admit something. I've tore up another book for my crafting purposes. I found an old daily devotional at the thrift store awhile back and thought I could easily cut out my quotes to attach to projects which is exactly what I've done here. I'm having a blast! More mixed media projects to come. Thanks for stopping by!!

Mixed Media Tag

This is my first real attempt at mixed media. The idea was inspired by Christy Tomlinson and her tutorials on YouTube. She creates her pieces on canvas, but I didn't know if I was quite ready for that yet. I thought I better start small and work my way up. Lol! It was fun using so many different elements and really was very simple. The background was the funniest to create. I used scraps of card stock, and vintage music paper. I then applied twinkling H2O's, acrylic paint and stamps. I drew and cut out my little lady( I can't believe she came out pretty well) and dressed her up. Overall I'm very pleased with it and plan to practice on some more tags this weekend so watch out for more fun. If you get a chance check out Christy on YouTube, she makes it fun and really simple.
